Melissa & Dan’s wedding was a perfect cozy fall day full of family, friends, and great memories.
I don’t often get to do this, but I was able to take photos of Melissa getting ready at her childhood home. I love doing that because I get to take a trip down memory lane of my brides as I see their childhood photos hanging on the walls. Reminds me that we all have a journey in life and the bride seems to be so relaxed.
The memories that flow at dinner about the couple are often one of the best moments of the day. With the cool breeze and beautiful view of Lake Michigan behind the head table at Lakehaven Hall, it was the perfect backdrop for family and friends to share stories about Melissa & Dan. And when Melissa’s dad took the mic, he told one of the cutest stories! Not too long after they had started dating, Dan had made wire cages for Melissa’s tomato plants…turns out these were no ordinary cages as he had added a romantic touch with heart shapes on them! Now ladies, doesn’t that melt your heart?!
Melissa & Dan, I can’t thank you enough for choosing me to capture your day and I wish you all the best in the years to come!
